According to this new report, AI could create 78 million jobs in 2030.

According to CNN, 40% of companies plan to reduce their workforce with AI-automated tasks. But the WEF disagrees: 170 million jobs could be created by 2030, compared to 92 million, a gain of 78 million positions.

AI will transform the job market by 2030.

The WEF study is based on data from 1,000 companies that employ 14 million people worldwide. It shows that half plans to reshape their business in response to AI. Two-thirds plan to hire people with expertise in this technology. And 40% expect workforce reductions where AI can automate tasks.

The most sought-after profiles by 2030 are focused on three areas: AI and big data, networks and cyber security, and technological culture. AI is therefore a key driver of job creation, according to the report, which highlights that 86% of companies plan to transform their operations through AI in the next decade.

Specific occupations facing significant shortages: Postal Service employees, executive secretaries and payroll managers. For the first time, graphic designers and legal secretaries have joined the list. The WEF justifies this involvement through the growing capabilities of generative AI in the creative and management domains.

However, the FEM does not speak of substitution but of augmentation of human-machine cooperation. Between 2025 and 2030, 77% of companies surveyed will start programs to train their employees to use this technology. And 70% plan to hire experts to design AI tools. Finally, 62% will look for employees who are already able to use this technology.

OpenAI calls for universal income.

OpenAI, to which we owe ChatGPT, which was allegedly used to attack a cybertruck in Las Vegas, predicted in 2023 that AI could replace the “median worker”. Sam Altman’s goal is to develop a versatile general AI (AGI) but a “Super Intelligence” Which is more than human mental capacity.

Faced with this situation, Sam Altman suggests the establishment of a universal basic income to provide a minimum income to every citizen. The head of OpenAI is funding one of the most important experiments in this regard.
