Like every year, electronics companies meet at CES in Las Vegas to present their new products. And Lexar, one of the leading brands in flash memory solutions, is taking the opportunity to unveil a number of new products for photographers, videographers and gamers.

Interviewed during a press presentation before the summer of 2024, the professional workflow docking station series finally makes its official appearance. Designed for experts and professionals, these two docking stations can accommodate different models of two- or six-bay modules such as single or dual memory card readers and SSD drives. The six-bay model is designed for the studio, with the two-bay portable version ideally suited for use in the field.

Lexar is also unveiling new memory cards including the Armor Gold SD card and two CFexpress 4.0 Type B cards in the Professional Diamond and Professional Gold families. The Armor Gold SD card is made of stainless steel, 37 times stronger than conventional SD cards and designed to withstand the extreme conditions of outdoor use. It offers write speeds of up to 210 MB/s and a speed class of V60, ideal for capturing 6K footage with ease.

Designed to withstand temperature, vibration, dust and shock, the new CFexpress 4.0 Type B cards offer ultra-high performance and ultra-fast transfer rates with a maximum read speed of 3700 MB/s. The write speed for the Professional Diamond model is 3400 MB/s. And the maximum read speed for Professional Gold model is 3600 MB/s and write speed is 3300 MB/s. For all intents and purposes, Lexar specifies that these maximum transfer speeds are only achieved when these cards are used with a USB 4.0 card reader.

Lexar has also introduced the PLAY PRO microSD Express card for gaming on portable consoles. Equipped with PCIe technology, this card offers read speeds of up to 900 MB/s and write speeds of up to 600 MB/s for ultra-fast load times, allowing for faster downloads.

Lexar also offers ARES DDR5 CUDIMM memory, the next generation of memory for desktop computers. It offers speeds up to 9600 MT/s and incorporates a clock driver IC (CKD) to prevent electronic interference and interruptions that can lead to errors, data loss or system crashes. Lexar announced the Lexar Professional NM1090 PRO SSD, which promises read speeds of up to 14,000 MB/s and write speeds of up to 13,000 MB/s next generation, including DRAM cache, allowing gamers to play their games will allow 80% loading. Faster than the previous generation and available in capacities from 1 to 4 TB.
