(Teleborsa) – The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) has announced the detail of green expenses supported by the State financed with the proceeds from the first issue of the Green BTP, which took place on March 3, 2021. The bond – maturing on April 30, 2045 and an annual nominal rate of 1.50% – was issued for an amount of 8.5 billion euros.
The amount raised was divided into six items of green expenditure: renewable sources for the production of electricity and heat (about 119 million euros), energy efficiency (3.5 billion), transport (3.1 billion), pollution prevention and control and circular economy (336 million), protection of the environment and biological diversity (966 million) and research (472 million).
“In accordance with the Framework, the expenses included in the State budget relating to the year of issue and the final accounts for the three previous years – the note of the MEF reads – Specifically, for the years 2018, 2019 and 2020 the values of the expenditure were considered while for 2021 the values of the last budget allocation “
As regards Categories 1 and 2 (renewable sources and energy efficiency), “we are talking about so-called tax expenses, that is, lower tax revenues due to subsidies on energy efficiency measures and incentives for the production of energy from renewable sources ”, is emphasized.
