Brevan Howard has also started a new cryptocurrency company, BH Digital.
The UK fund manager has also recruited a new managing director for its cryptocurrency investment arm, adds Reuters in a report.
According to the update, Brevan has hired Colleen Sullivan, former CEO of CMT Digital, to lead the company’s new cryptocurrency business, dubbed BH Digital.
Ms Sullivan left her position at the Chicago-based trading firm in August, which allowed her to take on her new responsibilities at the alternative asset management firm. This seasoned executive will lead Brevan’s private and risky products, the company said in a statement quoted by Reuters.
She brings a wealth of experience as she worked at CMT Digital for four years, during which time she accumulated a lot of expertise and sense of leadership in blockchain technology and cryptocurrency trading, according to her. page LinkedIn.
According to Brevan Howard CEO Aron Landy, the ex-CEO of CMT has a “Exceptional track record in making very successful crypto venture investments”.
This, Aron noted, is going to be essential as the UK hedge fund seeks to increase its direct exposure in cryptocurrencies.
Brevan Howard first announced his foray into the burgeoning cryptocurrency investment industry in April. At the time, the fund would have considered to add Bitcoins representing 1.5% of its $ 5.6 billion fund to its main hedge fund.
Hiring Sullivan from CMT appears to add to the company’s strong approach to its digital asset fund. In addition to being the top executive of BH Digital, Mr. Sullivan will head the project’s investment committee, whose main objective is to develop a crypto-focused strategy.
Brevan Howard was founded in 2002 and has 60 portfolio managers in major cities around the world, including London and New York.
